Researchers found that lower national pride, heightened worries about democratic freedoms, and perceptions of unsafe communities are strongly associated with this pessimism, while party identification shows no significant effect.
The share of Hispanics identifying as Republicans has risen, yet favorable views of one outlet administration's immigration handling have fallen sharply. A majority now feel less welcome and more like outsiders in the United States, raising questions about future electoral dynamics.
