Historic 151-Acre Renamor Estate in Tuxedo Park Set for September Auction After $5M Price Cut

After a year of unsuccessful negotiations and a $5 million reduction that set the list price at $25 million, the 151-acre Renamor estate in Tuxedo Park will go to auction on Sept. 16 via Concierge Auctions, with opening bids expected to fall between $5 million and $11 million. The property, the largest in the historic Hudson River community, features a 14,000-square-foot main house built in 1920 in French Provincial style, complete with a banquet-size dining room, library, former chapel, smoking room, wine cellar, 16 bedrooms, 20 bathrooms and 19 fireplaces.

Eight additional structures—including a guest house, carriage house, boathouse, log cabin, tea house, pool/spa house and five-car garage—dot the grounds, which also boast two pools, a tennis court and a $1 million geothermal heating system with a concealed solar field. Listed by Ellis Sotheby’s International Realty, the estate was previously owned by the late Robert Dow, senior managing partner at a private investment firm and 1972 Olympic fencer. Originally constructed for George Amory and his wife Marion Renee, Renamor has also served as the Academy of Mount St. Vincent before returning to private hands.
