Historic New Jersey amusement park shuts down and goes up for sale

Clementon Park and Splash World, a beloved South Jersey amusement venue founded in 1907, ceased operations on Monday and will be listed for sale after the 2026 season. IB Parks & Entertainment, which purchased the property at auction in 2021 for $2.37 million, described the shutdown as a "difficult decision" and expressed hope that a future owner will honor the park’s history. The statement did not reveal a sale price or explain the reasons behind the closure.

The 52-acre complex features rides like the Hellcat and Dragon Coaster roller coasters, the Ring of Fire looping ride, and a large Ferris wheel. The park has changed hands several times, previously owned by Abram Baker, Adrenaline Family Entertainment, and others, and survived a major fire in 1931 and a foreclosure in 2019. IB Parks & Entertainment also operates Indiana Beach Amusement and Water Park and Niagara Amusement Park & Splash World.
