Historic New Jersey amusement park shuts down and seeks new owner

Clementon Park and Splash World, a historic amusement and water park in New Jersey, closed permanently after completing its 2026 season and is now being offered for sale. The park opened in 1907 as a trolley park founded by Theodore B. Gibbs and his sons, remaining under local family ownership until 2007. It survived a major fire in 1931 and later added attractions such as the Hellcat wooden coaster, King Neptune’s Revenge log ride, and a large wave pool.

In 2021, IB Parks & Entertainment purchased the 52-acre property at a foreclosure auction for roughly $2.37 million and ran it for five seasons before deciding to cease operations. One outlet owners have announced the sale but have not yet identified a buyer, and further details will be released as they become available.
