HIT launches bilingual aerospace books and metaverse lessons in dozens of Chinese schools
The Harbin Institute of Technology’s volunteer teaching corps introduced bilingual aerospace science books and metaverse courses to over 3,000 students in 27 schools across Guangxi, Yunnan and Qinghai.
A volunteer teaching team from Harbin Institute of Technology has brought a new science outreach package to schools in Guangxi, Yunnan, Qinghai and other regions, reaching more than 3,000 learners. The initiative pairs bilingual aerospace textbooks with immersive metaverse courses that let students navigate virtual lunar and Martian bases, plan rover paths and interact with AI agents. Participants described the experience as an adventure game that demystifies the workings of lunar and Mars rovers.
The series, published in Chinese and English, includes titles like "The Small Robotic Arm: A Helping Hand for Astronauts" and "Unlocking the Secrets of Lunar Soil". By integrating books, exhibition halls, AI videos and virtual-reality lessons, the program aims to boost space-science literacy and nurture future talent for China’s space ambitions.
