Ho Chi Minh City releases compensation plan for Metro Line 6 linking Tan Son Nhat to Phu Huu

A feasibility study for the first phase of compensation, support and resettlement for Metro Line 6 has been forwarded to relevant agencies for appraisal. According to the HCMC Urban Railway Management Board, the line will impact 2,501 households and organisations, with most requiring full clearance and the remainder facing partial demolition. More than 95 hectares of land will be acquired, covering compensation, support and resettlement costs.

The 19-kilometre route will feature 17 stations—13 underground—plus a depot in Binh Trieu, beginning at Ba Queo near the Tan Ky Tan Quy-Truong intersection, passing through Tan Son Nhat Airport, crossing the Saigon River, then rising above ground near Vo Nguyen Giap-Ring Road 2 before splitting toward Phu Huu and a branch linking to the Thu Thiem-Long Thanh Airport line. Construction is expected to commence at the end of the year and be completed in 2030, bringing the city's total metro length to 255 km. The Department of Agriculture and Environment has called on agencies to verify the route, land use and structures, while the Department of Finance will assess funding sources.
