Hohem unveils Eyepic handheld camera with detachable action-cam module
Hohem introduced the Eyepic, a handheld stabilized camera that lets users remove its magnetic lens unit for use as a tiny action cam.
Hohem's latest offering, the Eyepic, aims to set itself apart from rivals such as DJI and Insta360 by featuring a removable magnetic camera module. The device records 4K video at up to 60 fps and allows users to rotate the 2.51-inch touchscreen to switch between vertical and horizontal orientations, with a joystick for framing and a lever for zoom control. When detached, the tiny action cam can be clipped, lanyarded, or magnetically mounted, streaming a live 1080p preview back to the grip up to 32 feet away.
The module is waterproof to just over 32 feet, while the grip and gimbal lack water resistance. Hohem has not released information on battery duration, internal storage, tracking functions, or price.
Why it matters
The Eyepic adds a versatile, detachable action-camera option to the crowded handheld-gimbal market.
