Holdout juror claims ample evidence as Lindsay Clancy murder trial ends in mistrial
The sole juror who voted to convict Lindsay Clancy said he had substantial evidence, while the case remains unresolved after a mistrial.
In a televised interview, Michael Desronvil, the lone holdout juror who voted to convict Massachusetts mother Lindsay Clancy of murdering her three children, asserted that he had "a lot of evidence" backing his position. He refused to disclose specifics, citing deference to his fellow jurors and the ongoing judicial proceedings. Following the mistrial declared on September 4, defense lawyer Kevin Reddington petitioned Judge William Sullivan to preserve all juror materials and to obtain Desronvil's questionnaire, surveillance video, and phone records.
Reddington also requested information on any prior contact between the prosecution and the holdout juror. The case centers on Clancy's alleged strangling of her children—Cora, 5; Dawson, 3; and Callan, 8 months—with exercise bands, with prosecutors claiming she acted deliberately, while the defense argues she suffered postpartum psychosis. The next steps for the case remain unclear as the court considers the defense's motion for an inquiry.
Why it matters
The juror's claims could influence a new trial and raise questions about jury transparency in high-profile murder cases.
