Hologic to Acquire Barcelona-Based Reveal Genomics, Expanding Breast Cancer Test Portfolio

Hologic, a global leader in women’s health, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Reveal Genomics, a Barcelona-based precision oncology company. Reveal Genomics develops advanced genomic diagnostics, including the HER2DX test that assists clinicians in optimizing treatment for HER2-positive breast cancer patients. Hologic’s CEO of Diagnostic Solutions, Vitor Rocha, said the acquisition strengthens the company’s oncology offering and will enable support for more women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Co-founder Patricia Villagrasa-Gonzalez noted that joining Hologic provides the scale needed to accelerate their mission worldwide. The combined suite will join Hologic’s existing Breast Cancer Index assay, a guideline-endorsed test for extended endocrine therapy decisions. The transaction is subject to approval by Spanish regulators and customary closing conditions.
