Hong Kong chief to don lapel pin and green attire for policy address

In a social-media post, Chief Executive John Lee revealed that he and his officials will wear a blue lapel pin bearing the words “one five” at the forthcoming Policy Address, signifying Hong Kong’s inaugural five-year blueprint. The pin’s design features two overlapping squares to convey the city’s integration of diverse talent and resources for high-quality development. Accompanying the pin, Lee will wear green ties and scarves, also crafted by the Technological and Higher Education Institute, inspired by the technological growth of the Northern Metropolis.

The tie’s criss-cross pattern is meant to illustrate synergy among talent, education and industry. Lee highlighted that these visual symbols aim to showcase Hong Kong’s economic strength and its role on the global stage.
