Hornets unveil plans for $190 million training and headquarters complex
The Charlotte Hornets gave reporters a tour of their upcoming $190 million, 160,000-square-foot training and headquarters facility, slated to open next spring.
On August 28, Charlotte Hornets executives invited press to inspect the new training and team headquarters that will cost $190 million and cover 160,000 square feet. The building, still under construction, is expected to open in the spring following the tour. Alex MacKenzie, the director of basketball facilities, guided visitors through the site, showing both the work in progress and detailed renderings of the finished space.
He explained that the center, to be called the Novant Health Performance Center, will incorporate a substantial amount of cutting-edge basketball technology. The event highlighted the organization’s willingness to allocate significant resources toward building a competitive franchise.
