Hospital prepares for influx of patients after TER derails near Elbeuf

At around 20:45 on Friday, Benoit Hue, the on-call director of the centre hospitalier intercommunal Elbeuf-Louviers/Val de Reuil, received an urgent call warning that a train had derailed between Elbeuf and Tourville-la-Rivière. The incident involved a TER service linking Caen and Rouen and occurred close to the Renault plant in Cléon. Of the 186 passengers, dozens were injured, with some transferred to the CHU de Rouen and others to the local hospital. Hospital staff began mobilising resources to treat the arriving victims.
