Houthis say missiles hit Riyadh oil plant as Saudi jets strike Sanaa

The Houthi movement said it launched ballistic missiles and drones at an Aramco facility south of Riyadh, producing visible flames and prompting a firefighting response. In retaliation, Saudi aircraft carried out 26 strikes on the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, where local reporters heard explosions and saw warplanes launch missiles. No casualty figures have been released for either side.

Yemeni government forces announced that they had taken positions near the Bab al‑Mandab strait, while a Houthi‑affiliated agency denied those claims. The Saudi‑led coalition said it was deploying roughly 100 combat aircraft to support operations in the area.

Why it matters

The attacks expand the Yemen‑Saudi conflict and threaten regional oil infrastructure and security.

How the sides frame it

CENTER
