How Samsung's Edge Panel Turns Galaxy Phones into Custom Shortcut Hubs

Samsung equips its Galaxy lineup with the Edge Panel, a side-screen shortcut bar that users can tailor to their workflow. After activating it via Settings → Display → Edge Panels, a faint handle appears along the screen edge; swiping the handle opens a pane containing up to seven selectable panels. The panels include Apps for favorite shortcuts, People for quick contact access, Tasks for actions such as screenshots and alarms, Weather, Tools (a compass), Clipboard and Reminder sync.

Users may reorder panels, hide the bar on the lock screen, and modify its size, transparency and side placement. Customization options let individuals prioritize the most used panels and limit exposure of sensitive data like clipboard contents. The Edge Panel can also be disabled in landscape mode to avoid interference during video playback or gaming.
