How to Create a Dedicated Work Profile on Android Devices
Android phones can host separate work and personal environments by adding a second Google account and switching between user profiles.
Android supports multiple user profiles, allowing a single device to function as both a personal and a work phone. To enable this, users must have two Google accounts; a new one can be created for free through the Google account portal. After adding the second account via Settings → System → Users, the device prompts for security setup and terms acceptance.
The new profile starts with a fresh home screen, requiring separate app installations and configurations, while shared elements like Wi-Fi remain common. Users can toggle between profiles through the Users settings or a two-finger swipe in Quick Settings. Manufacturers differ in implementation: Pixel and many Android phones include the feature, Samsung offers Secure Folder, and Galaxy devices do not support it natively. The secondary profile can be removed by selecting Delete user in the Users menu.
