How to use Bluetooth headphones with a PS5 via a USB-C adapter
The PS5 does not natively support Bluetooth audio, but a USB-C Bluetooth adapter can enable wireless headphones to work with the console.
While the PlayStation 5 handles Bluetooth gamepads and media remotes, it does not provide native Bluetooth audio due to latency and microphone issues inherent in most wireless headphones. Gamers can bypass this limitation by plugging a USB-C Bluetooth adapter—such as a UGREEN transmitter—into the console, initiating pairing on both the adapter and the headphones, and then choosing the adapter as the audio output in the system menu.
Using a smart TV as an intermediary is an alternative, but it does not resolve the lag problem. Dedicated gaming headsets, especially those built for the PS5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech, deliver far superior performance. The SteelSeries Arctis 7P+ Wireless and Sony’s PlayStation Pulse Elite are highlighted as top choices for immersive, low-latency sound.
