Howard Stern signs HBO Max streaming deal as SiriusXM reshuffles his show

According to an insider, HBO Max has secured rights to stream a trimmed version of Howard Stern’s weekly live show, selecting the most compelling segments for a later-airing episode of about an hour or a half hour. To meet the streaming schedule, Stern will now perform his live broadcast solely on Mondays, a departure from his traditional start date after Labor Day. The cable network will broadcast the edited show later in the same week.

This deal comes after SiriusXM eliminated the Howard 101 channel, a move that coincided with the dismissal of roughly a dozen staff members earlier in the summer. Andy Cohen’s Radio Andy shifted to the vacated channel slot, while Howard 100 remains on its original frequency. Stern’s current three-year contract with SiriusXM, signed in December 2025, was described by him as providing greater flexibility and more free time.
