HPE launches GA of Alletra MP B10000 with unified block and file storage

HPE’s Alletra Storage MP B10000 Release 6 is now generally available, offering a disaggregated architecture that scales block and file workloads independently and includes built-in ransomware detection.

HPE announced that its Alletra Storage MP B10000 Release 6 has entered general availability, delivering a unified storage platform that merges block and file services on a single disaggregated, scale-out architecture. Unlike earlier “unified” offerings that only shared a management interface, the B10000 separates compute and capacity, letting each be expanded without the other. The new release adds native file protocol support while retaining a common OS and management console, enabling consolidation of adjacent workloads without creating new silos.

Integrated AI capabilities in the HPE Data Services Cloud Console provide autonomous health assessments and agentic support automation that can detect and address anomalies before they cause disruption. Ransomware resilience is enhanced through real-time detection across both block and file, complemented by Zerto application-level protection and StoreOnce data recovery. The launch follows HPE’s recent recognition as a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Storage Platforms, underscoring its shift toward architecture-centric storage solutions.

Why it matters

It shows how enterprise storage is evolving to flexible, AI-enhanced architectures that can reduce costs and improve security.
