Hundreds of Islamist-linked anti-Jewish attacks recorded in Germany over seven years
In the past seven years German monitoring centres logged 554 anti-Jewish incidents with an Islamist or Islamist-inspired motive, many involving threats or severe violence.
German observation points have recorded 554 anti-Jewish attacks bearing an Islamist or Islamist-inspired motive over the last seven years, according to the federal association RIAS headquartered in Berlin. The organization noted that more than 17% of these incidents were driven by anti-Israel feelings and 11.7% stemmed from far-right extremism, while the cause could not be definitively identified in about 55% of cases.
Among the most serious attacks cited were the 2022 gunfire at an Essen synagogue, which Berlin attributes to Iranian involvement, and a knife assault in 2025 at the central Holocaust memorial in Berlin. RIAS emphasized that antisemitism continues to be a pervasive daily phenomenon in Germany.
