Hungarian Interior Ministry orders audit of Fradiváros project funding

The Hungarian Interior Ministry’s State Secretariat for Sport issued a directive to carry out a post-audit of the funding relationships tied to the Fradiváros development project. In a brief Facebook notice, the secretariat stated that the sponsor will assess whether the grant has been used lawfully under current regulations. Earlier in the month, MP Gábor Kubatov requested a review of the project's accounts, prompting the FTC president to confirm that all paperwork had been delivered and that the audit would follow due legal process.

The ministry also disclosed that it has lodged a complaint alleging possible budget fraud, embezzlement, official misconduct, and related offenses concerning the project's public funding. Authorities indicated that the investigation will proceed within the framework of the rule of law.
