Hungarian Minister Announces Terror House Museum to Reopen Next Tuesday with Free Week
Minister Tarr Zoltán said the Terror House Museum will reopen on Tuesday and remain free to the public for a week.
Hungary's Minister for Social Relations and Culture, Tarr Zoltán, posted that the Terror House Museum will reopen on Tuesday and offer free entry for a week. The museum had been shut after the termination of its former director, Schmidt Mária, while a content audit was underway and legal rights were being clarified. Tarr reversed the earlier closure, stating the exhibition will stay accessible in its present state until the professional review concludes.
The assessment is being conducted by scholars from the ELTE HTK History Research Institute together with independent specialists. The museum’s overseeing foundation was dissolved by the Parliament in June, and its duties have now been assigned to Kulturális Vagyonkezelő Kft., the ministry’s cultural asset management arm.
