Hungarian transport minister announces full overhaul of MÁV board and supervisory committee
Transport Minister Vitézy Dávid revealed a total replacement of the MÁV Group’s board and supervisory board, appointing new members and a new chair.
Hungarian Transport and Investment Minister Vitézy Dávid used his social-media channel to disclose a sweeping change in the leadership of the MÁV Group. He noted that board members Barna Zsolt, Bethlen Miklós, Deák Tibor, Ratatics Péter, Wáberer György, Parragh László and Lepsényi István have either resigned or been removed. The minister said Lázár János appointed a completely new board, installing Tóth-Maros Dániel, the deputy state secretary for transport strategy, as chair.
The new directors include economists Csányi Eszter and Édes Balázs, transport engineer Horváth Balázs, and Németh Zoltán Ádám, head of community transport and rail safety at Szegedi Közlekedési Kft. The supervisory committee now chairs Nagy Zoltán, former finance-ministry official, with members Tímár András, Ugron István and Rafay Krisztina, while employee representatives Meleg János and Halasi Zoltán retain their seats. The changes aim to drive tangible improvements in Hungary’s rail and bus services.
