Hungarians increasingly rely on AI for daily tasks despite limited understanding

A representative Hungarian study ordered by Generali Biztosító reveals that while virtually every adult between 16 and 75 has heard of artificial intelligence, a large number consider their understanding insufficient or lack any concrete knowledge. Nevertheless, AI tools are being adopted for a wide array of daily functions, including searching for information, supporting education, generating text, creating images or videos, assisting with workplace duties, planning trips and influencing purchase decisions.

The youngest cohort (16-29) leads in using AI for learning, content creation and job-related tasks, whereas usage among those aged 60-75 remains low. In the financial realm, some respondents have already consulted AI for advice and a minority have acted on its suggestions. Attitudes toward AI are mixed: a quarter view it as risky, a similar share see no danger, and the largest group perceives both opportunities and hazards, underscoring the need for critical questioning and verification when using the technology.
