Hungary upgrades infertility clinics with new equipment across 13 centers

The National Hospital Directorate announced a modernization program for infertility treatment, delivering new laboratory and technical devices to 13 locations.

The Országos Kórházi Főigazgatóság disclosed a modernization project for Hungary's infertility services, targeting 13 sites with a total of 157 new pieces of equipment. The program covers the eight institutes of the Dunamenti REK Reproduction Center and five specialized infertility outpatient units, introducing heated worktables, cameras, stereo and inverted microscopes, and sterile work chambers. Additional upgrades include temperature-controlled cabinets for samples, culture media and pharmaceuticals.

Shipments started in October, with further high-value devices slated for handover by year-end. The initiative follows the 2019 nationalization of private fertility clinics and aims to raise success rates, which currently lag behind European averages.
