Hunter Biden launches personal Substack column titled “Where’s Hunter?”

Hunter Biden reappeared this summer with a strong presence on social platforms and podcasts, and now he is adding writing to his repertoire. On Wednesday he disclosed that he has joined Substack, the self-publishing service used by many independent commentators, to host a column titled “Where’s Hunter?” - a tongue-in-cheek nod to a Trump ad-lib from the 2020 campaign. In his welcome note he thanked followers who were automatically added from his other channels and explained that he is finally publishing his own essays, paintings, and reflections on the past seven years.

The first entry, “The Courage to See,” offers poetic thoughts on addiction, recovery, and the experience of seeing his artwork displayed in a friend’s home. Alongside his writing, Biden has been vocal on podcasts, critiquing figures such as a journalist at one outlet, and he told Bill Maher that his public profile aims to help the millions battling addiction. When asked about a possible 2028 presidential bid, he replied that he would need to relapse before considering a run.
