Overpass Arena, a newly constructed 115-by-150-foot clay rodeo facility west of Vero Beach, will host the Hurricane Alley Blowout rodeo on September 4-5 as part of the 6th Avenue Jewelers Luxury Watch Series. The program includes bull riding, ranch bronc riding, a futurity calf showcase and a country music concert featuring Texas native Colby Lee Swift with James Holler as a special guest. Friday’s doors open at 5 p.m. with competition starting at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday’s schedule begins at 3 p.m., with the concert from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and rodeo action at 7 p.m. Tickets are $35 for general admission and $75 for VIP, which grants access to a three-level VIP saloon and bleachers. The arena, owned by John and Rochelle "Shelley" Englehart of J&R Land & Cattle, also plans expansion in January, adding two more VIP bars and a 30-acre parking lot.
