HVAC technician arrested after video shows him kicking homeowner's dog in Florida
A Florida HVAC worker was fired and charged with aggravated animal cruelty after a motion-activated camera captured him kicking a small Chihuahua inside a customer's home.
Sanford Police Department investigators said Richardson Noel, a 43-year-old HVAC technician, entered a home on a service call and deliberately kicked the resident's Chihuahua, Boomer, as captured by a motion-activated treat dispenser. The 65-second video shows the dog being kicked, flipped, and remaining limp for the remainder of the clip, after which Boomer briefly regained consciousness but experienced a seizure. Owner Ryan Menzies reported the abuse after his girlfriend received an alert from the device while they were at work.
Noel surrendered to authorities, faced an aggravated animal cruelty charge, and posted an $8,000 bond. ElDante HVAC Services, Noel's employer, fired him immediately and posted an apology, noting a violation of company policy that prohibits technicians from entering homes with unattended pets. Police chief Cecil Smith called the act "deeply disturbing" and emphasized the breach of trust involved.
