Hyundai and Kia achieve record U.S. sales in September driven by SUVs and hybrids
Hyundai Motor America sold 77,439 vehicles in September, a 9% year-over-year rise and its highest September total, while Kia America delivered 77,009 units, up 18% from a year earlier.
Both Hyundai and Kia reported their strongest September sales in the United States, with Hyundai moving 77,439 cars and Kia 77,009. Hyundai’s growth was led by the Palisade SUV, which jumped 52% year-on-year, and its hybrid models made up 28% of total sales. Kia’s gains came from a range of models including the Seltos, Niro, K4, and Telluride. The surge reflects strong consumer demand for sport-utility vehicles and hybrid powertrains across both brands.
