Hyundai debuts IONIC 3 electric sedan targeting price-sensitive buyers
Hyundai unveiled the IONIC 3 electric sedan, positioning it as a cost-competitive option in its segment.
Hyundai launched the IONIC 3, an electric sedan that bridges the B and C segments and aims to compete on price. The model is available with a smaller battery for urban use and a larger pack that can achieve close to 700 km of WLTP-rated range in city cycles. Both versions use a 400-volt architecture with front-wheel drive, and a rapid charger can restore 80 % capacity in roughly thirty minutes.
The vehicle comes with a seven-year warranty without mileage limits and includes a complimentary wall-box and installation for purchases made before the end of November. Its infotainment system runs on Android Automotive OS, branded Pleos Connect, and incorporates the Gleo AI voice assistant for natural-language commands. Additional driver-aid features include smart cruise control linked to navigation and remote parking assistance. Exterior styling highlights sculpted surfaces and a pixel-style badge that encodes the brand’s initial in Morse code.
Why it matters
The launch adds a lower-priced electric sedan to the market, expanding affordable EV choices for consumers.
