Hyundai recalls over 94,600 U.S. cars due to fire risk from seat motor overheating
Hyundai Motor America is recalling 94,622 vehicles in the United States because front power seat motors may overheat and cause fires.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced that Hyundai is recalling 94,622 U.S. vehicles after identifying a risk that front power seat motors could overheat. The problem stems from a stuck power seat control switch, which could ignite a fire while the car is parked or in motion. Affected models include certain 2015-2016 Hyundai Genesis and 2017-2020 Genesis G80 vehicles. Hyundai has advised owners to keep the cars outdoors and away from structures until repairs are completed. The agency noted that a fix is still being developed.
