IAF chief stresses foresight and adaptation as key to modern air warfare

Air Chief Marshal A P Singh told a defence seminar that anticipating shifts in warfare and adjusting quickly is essential for victory, citing recent conflicts and Operation Sindoor.

At a defence think-tank seminar in New Delhi, Air Chief Marshal A P Singh emphasized that success belongs to those who predict and adapt to evolving warfare patterns, rather than reacting after the fact. He pointed to ongoing global conflicts and India’s Operation Sindoor last year as clear examples of air power’s decisive role. The gathering coincided with the second edition of the Tarang Shakti air exercise at Jodhpur Air Force Station, where seven foreign nations, including the United States, France, Germany and Australia, deployed aircraft, marking the first participation of the US F-35 stealth jet.

Singh also commemorated the Indian Air Force’s 94th anniversary with a ceremony at Hindan Air Base in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. He reiterated that the IAF has transformed since 1932 into a network-centric, multi-domain force ranked among the world’s best. The chief’s remarks underscore the need for continual technological foresight in defence planning.
