The Independent Commission Against Corruption is investigating whether a $254,666 payment to Anita Perrottet for a three-month consulting engagement in 2022 was a genuine service fee or a conduit for prohibited political donations. The money came from Jeremy Greenwood's firms Beckington and JPG Advisory to her company, Macquarie Consulting, and was described by Anita as a $10,000 monthly retainer based on oral marketing and strategic advice.
Counsel Peggy Dwyer highlighted the absence of written agreements, phone records, or detailed invoices, and questioned how the fee aligned with a $150,000 annual invoice sent by Charles Perrottet. Additional testimony indicated that lobbyist Christian Ellis had advised on how the invoices should be formatted. The commission has ordered Anita to produce relevant communications, and she is set to continue her testimony before Charles Perrottet takes the stand. Dominic Perrottet is not implicated in the inquiry.
