ICE arrests multiple illegal immigrants with serious criminal histories
ICE announced the detention of several undocumented migrants who had prior convictions for child molestation, weapons, drugs and violent assaults.
The Department of Homeland Security said ICE has taken into custody a number of undocumented individuals with extensive criminal records. Among those arrested are a Guatemalan who previously received a first-degree child-molestation sentence, a Cuban charged with solicitation to commit first-degree murder and cocaine possession, and an Iraqi convicted of assault and illegal weapon possession. Additional detainees include a Nicaraguan with drug and weapon offenses and another Guatemalan linked to firearm possession and aggravated assault. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin framed the operation as a continuation of a policy to target the most dangerous illegal aliens and cited a broader effort to lower crime rates through deportations.
