ICE detains Filipino illegal immigrant with two decades of U.S. convictions

Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 55-year-old Filipino national Jaime Tan Francisco on August 2, following a Las Vegas police booking for domestic battery, attempted arson, drug possession, resisting an officer and drug-paraphernalia charges. ICE officials traced his entry to April 2000 via Detroit, noting he was authorized to remain only until late October 2000 before overstaying and living in the country illegally for nearly 26 years.

Francisco’s criminal record in the United States stretches back two decades, with a 2006 harassment conviction and a 2014 meth possession sentence among other offenses. Acting ICE Director David Venturella highlighted the agency’s collaboration with state and local law enforcement to keep “criminal illegal aliens” off the streets. The arrest underscores ongoing federal efforts to enforce immigration violations tied to repeat criminal behavior.
