ICE detains foreign nationals convicted of sexual crimes and attempted murder in latest crackdown

The Department of Homeland Security announced that Immigration and Customs Enforcement seized a batch of illegal-resident foreigners with prior convictions, branding them the “worst of the worst.” The detainees, originating from Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Honduras, Cuba, Brazil, Vietnam, Guatemala and India, faced accusations ranging from child sexual assault and attempted murder to drug trafficking and violent assaults.
DHS official Markwayne Mullin stated the operation removed public-safety threats and fulfilled President Trump’s mandate to deport illegal aliens. Notable cases include an Ecuadorian convicted of sexual assault of a 13-15-year-old and a Salvadoran convicted of attempted murder and heroin possession. ICE framed the arrests as a continuous effort to safeguard communities while advancing a broader goal of deporting tens of millions of illegal residents.
