ICE detains Ukrainian woman at San Francisco airport over alleged visa overstay
A 38-year-old Ukrainian, Iryna Gorb, was taken into custody by ICE agents at San Francisco International Airport after arriving from Portland, accused of overstaying her visa.
Iryna Gorb, 38, was arrested by plain-clothes ICE officers at San Francisco International Airport on July 22 following a flight from Portland. A video captured by Richmond City Councilmember Doria Robinson shows Gorb pleading for assistance as she is restrained. Homeland Security officials said she had lived in the United States unlawfully for roughly 15 years and resisted arrest. She is now held at the California City Detention Facility while removal proceedings begin.
