ICE Moves to Detain Jamaican National Charged with Burger King Stabbing in Florida
ICE has filed a detainer to take custody of Shaquiel Sheldon Williams, a Jamaican illegal alien charged with stabbing two Burger King workers in Panama City Beach.
On August 13, Shaquiel Sheldon Williams, an illegal alien from Jamaica, entered a Burger King in Panama City Beach, Florida, where he argued with staff, refused payment and stabbed two employees before fleeing. Police recovered him quickly, and the two victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening stab wounds. Williams was charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office arrested him, and ICE filed a detainer the same day, seeking his custody. A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson blamed the incident on the Biden administration’s visa policy, noting Williams arrived on a visa in December 2023 and failed to depart by January 2024. The spokesperson said ICE will work with Florida partners to ensure the individual is removed after facing justice. The case highlights ongoing tensions over immigration enforcement and public safety.
