IDF razes home of Netanel Shukrun’s murderer in West Bank operation
The Israel Defense Forces demolished the house of the attacker who killed Netanel Shukrun near Neveh Tzuf, carrying out the raid in the Biddu area with border police and the Yahalom engineering unit, while also seizing incitement material across the West Bank.
In a coordinated West Bank operation, the Israel Defense Forces demolished the home of the gunman who murdered Netanel Shukrun near Neveh Tzuf on Sept. 20, using troops from the Yahalom engineering unit and the Binyamin Brigade of the Judea and Samaria Border Police in the area of the Palestinian village of Biddu. The IDF also razed monuments that glorify terrorists and conducted joint raids with Shin Bet and the Judea and Samaria District Police, focusing on individuals who incite violence, including many who praised the Oct. 7 Hamas attack in the northwestern Negev.
More than 600 locations were inspected, resulting in the seizure of military equipment and incitement material. After the killing, Shukrun’s son Yoav recounted the attack, describing how his father was shot while they were returning from a ritual immersion at Ein Raya spring ahead of Yom Kippur. The army affirmed that security forces will keep initiating offensive actions to prevent terrorism throughout Judea and Samaria and to bring perpetrators to justice.
Why it matters
The demolition signals Israel’s punitive policy against families of attackers and underscores ongoing security tensions in the West Bank.
