IIT Delhi student dies after jumping from sixth-floor campus building
A 31-year-old M.Sc. Physics student at IIT Delhi fell to his death after jumping from a sixth-floor window on campus on Saturday morning.
Around 8:33 a.m. on Saturday, police were alerted to a student who had jumped from a building on the IIT Delhi campus. Officers reached the site promptly, moved the injured person to the campus hospital, and he was declared dead upon arrival. The deceased was identified as a 31-year-old M.Sc.
Physics student who had entered the campus through the main gate at roughly 8 a.m., proceeded to the Lecture Hall Complex, and used a lift to reach the sixth floor before jumping from the building's front side. The investigation found no injuries aside from those caused by the fall and no suicide note. A mobile phone recovered from his pocket will be examined, and police are obtaining his counseling records and other relevant information from the institute. The case remains under investigation with legal action pending.
