Ilie Bolojan explains PNL's conditional support for Niculescu-PSD government

Ilie Bolojan stated that PNL's decision to support the Niculescu-PSD government was driven by the need to keep vital institutions from failing after more than five months of political deadlock. He noted that an interim cabinet lacks the power to issue emergency ordinances or make budget corrections, causing several ministries to exhaust their allocated funds for core services. Bolojan cited the risk of ambulances running out of fuel as a concrete example of service breakdown.

The party's backing is conditional; PNL officials will resign early next week and move into opposition. He also said a signed agreement will require the new prime minister to uphold deficit targets to maintain EU funding and investor confidence.
