Illinois Angel Dad Urges Wisconsin Voters to Reject Socialist Candidates

Joe Abraham's daughter, Katie, died in a January 2025 collision when a Guatemalan national, driving at high speed while intoxicated, struck her vehicle on the University of Illinois campus; a passenger, Chloe Polzin, also died at the hospital. Abraham attributes the tragedy to Illinois' sanctuary legislation, expanded by Governor JB Pritzker, which restricts local law enforcement from assisting federal immigration authorities.

During an interview on The Benjamin Yount Show, he warned Wisconsin voters that electing a socialist governor could replicate Illinois' policies. He highlighted Wisconsin candidates, including Francesca Hong, who advocate for abolishing ICE and defunding police, and noted similar proposals from other state officials. Abraham has sought answers from Governor Pritzker without success and has testified before a Senate committee, calling the death preventable. He urges Wisconsin residents to weigh public safety when casting their ballots.
