Imran Khan's sons allege severe neglect and isolation in his prison cell

During a broadcast interview, Sulaiman Khan and Kasim Khan accused authorities of keeping their father, ex-prime minister Imran Khan, in prolonged isolation with minimal comforts, including no air conditioning during hot weather. They reported that Khan has lost roughly 80 percent of sight in one eye and was recently seen wearing an eye patch, suggesting inadequate medical attention. The brothers recounted that a court-ordered medical examination was limited to an hour at a government clinic, after which he was sent straight back to his cell, bypassing the private hospital that had been promised.

Their efforts to travel to Pakistan were thwarted by visa refusals, and they warned that the conditions have worsened, likening his situation to other political prisoners who have died in custody. The interview sparked a dispute with the Pakistan Cricket Board, which filed a complaint with one outlet over the broadcast. Former cricket captains Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev have also appealed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for humane treatment of Khan.
