In-person school sessions halted on Oct. 5 for National Teachers’ Day across the Philippines
Face-to-face classes will not be held on Monday, October 5, as schools observe National Teachers’ Day nationwide.
The Department of Education announced that all regular classroom sessions are cancelled on October 5 to mark National Teachers’ Day. The holiday applies to schools in Manila and the three major regions—Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The observance follows Republic Act No. 10743, which designates the fifth of October each year as a day to honor educators. Students will have a day off from in-person instruction while the celebration proceeds.
