At the fourth UK-India Financial Markets Dialogue in London, India and the UK committed to explore mechanisms for boosting cross-border investment, notably through equity and bond listings at Gujarat International Finance Tec-City’s International Financial Services Centre. Senior representatives from the Indian finance ministry, SEBI, RBI, IFSCA, PFRDA, IRDAI and the UK’s HM Treasury, BoE and FCA exchanged reform updates and reaffirmed a shared goal of resilient, open markets.
Participants underscored GIFT IFSC’s potential to attract foreign capital and agreed to maintain regulatory dialogue and knowledge-sharing. The talks also spanned insurance, pensions, reinsurance, asset management, fintech, AI risks and sustainable finance standards, with both sides pledging to prioritize these themes ahead of the next Economic and Financial Dialogue.
