India hits fastest T20I team fifty as rain ends Bengaluru series decider

India set a new record by reaching 50 runs in 2.5 overs against the West Indies, but persistent rain forced the series-deciding match to be called off, leaving the series tied 2-2.

During the final T20I of the series in Bengaluru, India broke its own record for the fastest team fifty, achieving the milestone in only 2.5 overs against the West Indies. The innings began with a 14-run opening over, followed by Kishan's 24 runs in the second over, propelling the side to 50 quickly. West Indies responded with regular wickets, dismissing Kishan, Samson, Shreyas Iyer and Tilak Varma.

Late-order batsman Naman Dhir accelerated the scoring, helping India cross 100 runs in the seventh over. However, increasing drizzle forced officials to truncate the game to a five-over target of 85 runs, and ultimately the rain led to a complete washout, leaving the five-match series deadlocked at two wins each.

Why it matters

The match showcased India's record-breaking batting power but ended without a decisive result due to weather.
