India's commerce chief Piyush Goyal launches six-day trade mission to Germany and the Netherlands
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal will lead a six-day visit to Germany and the Netherlands with about 100 business leaders to deepen trade, investment and technology cooperation.
From 22 to 27 October, India's commerce minister Piyush Goyal will head a six-day trade tour of Germany and the Netherlands, accompanied by around one hundred Indian business executives. In Berlin, he will take part in the Berlin Global Dialogue, engage with the German federal minister for economic affairs and energy and the economic policy adviser at the Chancellery, and attend roundtables on sectors such as automotive, AI and healthcare.
The visit coincides with negotiations on an India-EU free-trade agreement, which saw bilateral goods trade reach €118.4 billion in 2025. In the Netherlands, Goyal will meet the minister of economic affairs and climate, the foreign-trade minister, and the King's Commissioner of North Holland, while touring the Port of Rotterdam and speaking at the India-Netherlands Business Forum in The Hague. The itinerary includes sectoral roundtables on agri-food, high-tech innovation, renewable energy, logistics, manufacturing and services, aiming to boost market access and joint green-transition projects.
Why it matters
The mission seeks to expand India’s access to European markets and attract investment as the EU-India free-trade talks progress.
