India's commerce minister meets top US executives to boost bilateral investment
Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal held a series of meetings with senior leaders of major US firms, discussing expanded manufacturing, sourcing and investment opportunities in India.
Piyush Goyal, India's commerce and industry minister, spent several days in the United States meeting senior officials from leading corporations. He spoke with Grant McGee of Target about expanding the retailer's manufacturing footprint under the Make in India programme, and with Amit Banati of Mondelez International on broadening the company's sourcing and production in the country. In talks with Greg Case of Aon and Paul Grewal of Cognition, Goyal emphasized India's talent pool and AI ecosystem as a launchpad for next-generation technologies.
Meetings with Juan Ricardo Luciano of Archer Daniels Midland and Nike’s senior leadership focused on opportunities in food processing, agricultural value chains and the sports ecosystem. Across all discussions, Goyal urged deeper India-US business ties and highlighted the nation's rising consumption and reform-driven investment climate.
