India's Enforcement Directorate seizes ₹140 crore and arrests Earth Infrastructure promoters over ₹2,004 crore fraud

The Enforcement Directorate attached assets worth ₹140 crore and detained four Earth Infrastructure promoters, accusing them of a ₹2,004 crore fraud that left thousands of homebuyers without promised properties.

The Enforcement Directorate’s Delhi Zonal Office-II has attached immovable assets valued at ₹140 crore belonging to Earth Infrastructure Ltd, its subsidiaries, promoters and their associates as part of a money-laundering probe. Authorities allege the firm raised ₹2,004 crore from more than 19,425 homebuyers by promising completed units and assured returns, yet many projects remain incomplete and buyers have not received possession.

Investigations indicate large portions of the money were siphoned through various group companies and linked individuals. Following five FIRs filed by the Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police, the Serious Fraud Investigation Office also lodged a criminal complaint under the Companies Act. In April 2026, searches across Delhi-NCR recovered ₹6.30 crore in cash, jewellery worth ₹8.78 crore and documents on over 100 properties. The four promoters—Avdhesh Kumar Goel, Rajnish Mittal, Atul Gupta and Vikas Gupta—were arrested on June 1 under the PMLA, and a July 29 prosecution complaint seeks confiscation of assets exceeding ₹212 crore, bringing total attachments and seizures in the case to ₹352 crore.
