India's President Murmu Holds Talks with Iran's President Pezeshkian in Delhi

During the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, President Droupadi Murmu received Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The encounter followed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's discussion with Pezeshkian, which built on talks held at the SCO summit in Bishkek. Officials said the leaders examined various facets of India-Iran relations, praised Iran's active participation in BRICS meetings, and highlighted the forum's potential for fostering resilience and cooperation among Global South nations.

They also exchanged views on the West Asian conflict, reaffirming India's stance that disputes must be settled through dialogue and diplomacy. Additionally, the discussions touched on ensuring safe navigation and the welfare of seafarers in the region.
