India's chip sector has attracted $1.4 billion in equity investment for 281 companies, with half of that amount raised since 2025.
Tracxn data shows that 281 companies in India's semiconductor ecosystem have amassed $1.4 billion in equity capital, with $701 million contributed since 2025 and $228 million recorded in 2026 to date. The upcoming SEMICON India 2026 exhibition, scheduled for September 17-19 at Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, New Delhi, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will gather global industry leaders, officials and experts.
Tessolve Semiconductor tops the funding chart at $213 million, while ILJIN Electronics and VVDN follow with $198 million and $129 million respectively. The sector's funding rose from $49 million in 2021 to $473 million in 2025, reflecting a compound annual growth rate above 36%. Bengaluru accounts for the largest share of both companies and funding, contributing roughly 40 % of total equity raised.
